主啊，我们虽然不知道什么是最好的，但祢看怎样合适，求主赐给我们，也予我们心灵的平安与康泰，使邻舍与世人都因我们获得益处。求主使我们成为祢圣物的殿，与我们同住。主啊，求祢恩待祢的仆人。求祢赐福我的工作，使我尽力向善，最后会以喜乐的心感谢祢。祢是真理的神，创造者、救主、复兴的主，我们将身、心、灵都交托在祢手中。主啊，我也将今天的出入都交托给祢。阿们！ 潘洛伦
“我要安静，在我的居所观看。”（赛18章4节）
你们记得亚述王西拿基立上来攻击犹大的那段故事吗？当亚述军队上来的时候，神并没有阻止他们；似乎神许可他们这样作一般。神仍旧安安静静地在他的居所观看，太阳也仍旧照着他们；但是到了夜间，耶和华的使者击杀了全批傲慢的亚述军队，正如农夫的镰刀割剪树枝一般容易。
我们看，神的观念多么奇异——他喜欢安静，在他的居所观看！他的安静并不是默许，他的缄默并不是同意；他不过在等待他自己的时候罢了——在最合宜的时候，他要起来，在恶者的图谋正要成功的时候，他要起来用灾祸毁灭他们。当我们看到世上的邪恶，想到恶人的成功，挣扎在仇人的欺压下的时候，就应当想到神是在安静观看。
我们再看主耶稣在世时的态度。一天晚上，耶稣独自在岸上，看见门徒在海中，因风不顺，摇橹甚苦，他怎么样呢？静静地望着；拉撒路生病的时候，他明知道所爱的人在伯大尼何等痛苦，但是他却不去.直等到拉撒路的病势一天沉重一天，死了，安放在坟墓里了，他才前去，为的是要等待最合宜的时间。
亲爱的读者，他对你是不是也是这样“安静”呢？

| A patient man has great understanding, but a quick-tempered man displays folly. | |

| Stern discipline awaits him who leaves the path; he who hates correction will die. | |

| Death and Destruction lie open before the Lord - how much more the hearts of men! | |

| A mocker resents correction; he will not consult the wise. | |

| Better a meal of vegetables where there is love than a fattened calf with hatred. | |

| 18 | 脾气暴烈的人常引起纷争；不轻易动怒的可平息争执。 |
| A hot-tempered man stirs up dissension, but a patient man calms a quarrel. | |

| 19 | 懒惰人的道路好象荆棘篱笆；正直人的路径是平坦的大道。 |
| The way of the sluggard is blocked with thorns, but the path of the upright is a highway. | |

| 20 | 智慧的儿子使父亲快乐；愚昧人却藐视自己的母亲。 |
| A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish man despises his mother. | |

| Folly delights a man who lacks judgment, but a man of understanding keeps a straight course. | |

| Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed. | |

| The Lord tears down the proud man's house but he keeps the widow's boundaries intact. | |

| 26 | 邪恶的思想是耶和华厌恶的；恩慈的话却是纯净的。 |
| The Lord detests the thoughts of the wicked, but those of the pure are pleasing to him. | |

| 27 | 贪爱不义之财的祸害自己的家；恨恶贿赂的必可以存活。 |
| A greedy man brings trouble to his family, but he who hates bribes will live. | |

| The Lord is far from the wicked but he hears the prayer of the righteous. | |

| 30 | 眼中的光采使人心快乐；好消息使骨头滋润。 |
| A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones. | |

| 31 | 听从有关生命之责备的，必住在智慧人中间。 |
| He who listens to a life-giving rebuke will be at home among the wise. | |

| 32 | 轻忽管教的是藐视自己；听从责备的却得着智慧（“智慧”原文作“心”）。 |
| He who ignores discipline despises himself, but whoever heeds correction gains understanding. | |

| 33 | 敬畏耶和华是智慧的教训；尊荣以先，必有谦卑。 |
| The fear of the Lord teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor. | |
